Associated Sales and Leasing has been a proud part of the Central Wisconsin community for over 30 years. It seems like just yesterday we were renovating an old gas station, young, excited and scared to death. No doubt we were the new kids on the block.
As it turns out youth and big dreams somehow soften the enormity of your chances for success. What was so crystal clear to us was the need for a dealership that does things differently. And for the last 30 years that is exactly what we have done.
We are not your ordinary used car dealership. Our business model for Associated Sales and Leasing is actually pretty simple:
- Start with stocking the cleanest, low mileage vehicles available on the market.
- Hand pick every vehicle, bring it home, and put it through a 150 point safety inspection.
- Send every vehicle through a state of the art Detail Center where it would be meticulously cleaned from top to bottom.
- Insure that our showroom met the expectations of every guest: spotless, friendly, and professional looking – a true reflection of the pride we take in our business. This gives our guests the opportunity to walk in and find our relaxed atmosphere comforting, not intimidating.
- Lastly, spend time with each guest, learn about their families, personalize the process and in the end, start a long term relationship.
We knew that most dealerships could attempt to provide the same sales experience, but we felt that service after the sale was going to separates average dealerships, from great dealerships. And this is truly where we shine!

After 28 years we have seen many changes within our industry, we have had the opportunity to build a new facility, and we have expanded our service department. One thing that has not changed is the business model we committed to 30 years ago, and our promise to you is that we will never lose sight of our business model.

This is not our first trip to Associated Sales we purchased our first vehicle from them 10 years ago. Pete Lotzer was the sales rep and he was very helpful, friendly and no pressure, my husband hates pressure salesmen. We bought a Pontiac Vibe and have loved every drive. We have been talking about needing to replace our Eurovan as the body is rusting out, thanks to Wisconsin winters, and the high mileage after 15 years. So I knew what I wanted in my next car. I spent many hours looking through cars on line and I really didn’t see anything I wanted to go out and look at. The price was way out there and after 10 years the cost of a new vehicle is absurd.
I happened to be driving past ASL as it is on my way home and noticed they had a Kia Sedona in the lot. My sister has a Kia Soul and a Sarento, we drove her Soul for a week while visiting her in Arizona and really liked the ride and the power of the car. My husband has driven a Kia at work and has really liked the ride. So we had a day off from work and I suggested that we take a test drive even thoughwe were a little sticker shocked. He loved it and I found it to be just what I wanted in a new van.
After 10 years I still had Pete Lotzer’s business card in my wallet so we specifically asked for Pete as we knew he offers service above and beyond what we have found at other dealerships. He was still there and we got the service we were expecting from Pete. He made the purchase easy and when I found something wrong he went right to work to fix it and told me to let him know if there is anything else I need.
My husband wants to know if we will come back when he needs his next car? I told him as long as Pete is still there, I am sure we will be back when the time comes.

I saw the van I bought posted online. I was a little hesitant to proceed since the dealership was 2.5 hours from my house. I was able to discuss the van and pricing with Pete over the phone. He then offered to meet me half way to look at it in person and test drive it. The first thing Pete did when meeting was to point out things that weren’t obvious in the online post (scratches, etc.). I found that very upfront. After the test drive I agreed to purchase the van and mentioned that I didn’t think the back vents were working. Pete contacted me the next day to tell me that the vents were indeed not working, and that he already had the replacement part on order. He then told me that on his drive back from the test drive he noticed a tire was humming from being out of round. He had a replacement on order for that too (other tires only had a few miles on them so a single replacement was OK). As mentioned, this was AFTER I already signed for the vehicle. If that wasn’t enough, Pete arranged to drop the vehicle off at my place of work in Green Bay. I never actually made it to the dealership. I was very impressed from start to finish with both Pete and the dealership he represented. I also love the van. I would highly recommend them to anyone, even if you don’t live in the area.

I had the best car buying experience I’ve ever had at Associated Sales and Leasing. They are totally above board. They tell you up front what they paid for the car, what they did to repair and recondition the vehicle, offer a complete history of the vehicle, and take care of you after the sale. They are what all used car dealers should be.
